Checked Oct 30, 2026, from our dated comparison of launch sites.
5 sites on our dated comparison of where to launch a Mac app fit this question: Show HN, Uneed, Peerlist Launchpad, r/macapps and MacPip.They reach different people, so most makers use several. There is no single best one for everyone.MacPip is in the table and it is our own site, so weigh that.
Mostly read on each site's own pages. Prices and rules change, so confirm them before you pay.
Product Hunt is free, and on a good day it brings a lot of visitors. Most of them are not looking for a Mac app, though, and the link it gives you counts for little: a September 2026 test saw Product Hunt use a ugc link, which search engines discount.
That is why most Mac makers want somewhere else as well, or instead. Here are the launch-day options from our dated comparison of 14 sites, with what each one costs and who it reaches. Every fact comes from that comparison, checked on October 30, 2026. Prices and rules change, so confirm before you pay.
MacPip is one of them and it is our own site. We put it last, and you should weigh what we say about it with that in mind.
Show HN is the Hacker News section for things people can try. It is free, there is nothing to buy, and the rules say you must have built what you post. The value is the discussion: expect sharp technical questions, and be there to answer them. Like Product Hunt, Hacker News forbids asking people to upvote.
Tous les produits tech
Uneed lists all kinds of tech products, not just Mac apps. A free launch puts you at the back of the line, and its pages did not say how long the wait is. Fast-track costs $14.99 and Skip the line costs $39.99. Its pricing page also sets upvote scores for free and fast-track links, so read it before you choose.
Créateurs avec un profil personnel
Peerlist Launchpad runs weekly, with the window opening on Monday. It is for individual makers with a Peerlist profile, and top projects get extra promotion. Its pages did not state a fee when we checked, and we did not check its links.
Utilisateurs Mac sur Reddit
r/macapps is where Mac users on Reddit talk about apps, so the people reading already want Mac software. Posting is free. We could not read Reddit directly, and a mirror showed a limit of one app post per 30 days for developers. Read the current rules first, and make that one post count.
Apps Mac uniquement
MacPip is a free directory and launch site for Mac apps only. You pick your launch date, and the listing has a followed link. A badge is asked for on a free launch only. Paid places commencent le at $25 for 7 days, and they are labeled as paid and kept apart from the list. It is new and small, so do not expect Product Hunt traffic. Our numbers are public on the stats page.
A launch site is worth what its audience is worth to you. A huge general audience can send hundreds of visitors who never buy. A small Mac audience sends fewer people, but more of them own a Mac and came looking for an app.
Two other things matter more than they look. The first is whether you can pick your day, so it does not land on top of a big release. The second is the link: a followed link from a relevant page keeps working for search long after launch day is forgotten. The backlinks page compares what each site gives.
Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27. If your app is live on MacPip, you can add a Black Friday deal for free. It shows on the Black Friday page from its commencent le day and comes off after its end day, by itself.
Cette partie est notre avis.
It depends on who you want to reach. Show HN reaches a technical audience. r/macapps and Mac directories reach people who already want a Mac app. Most makers do several, because they reach different people. MacPip is one option and it is our own site.
Yes. Launching on Product Hunt is free, and nothing paid is needed to launch.
A September 2026 test saw a ugc link on Product Hunt, which search engines discount.
No. It follows our dated comparison, and nobody can pay to be on it or to move up.
