A free dofollow backlink for your Mac app
Checked October 30, 2026
Every approved app on MacPip gets a free dofollow link to its site, with no badge to add and no queue to pay past. A person checks the app first, usually within a few minutes. It is one real link. MacPip is new, so its authority is low today, the link helps more as the site grows, and no ranking is promised.
What you get
Your listing on MacPip has a Visit website link that points to your site. It is a plain link. Search engines may follow it and count it, because it has no nofollow, ugc or sponsored on it.
- It is free, whether you launch on a day or just list.
- You do not need a badge on your site.
- You do not need a number of votes.
- There is no paid way past the line. Sponsors get the same check at the same speed.
How to check it yourself
Open any app page, view the page source and search for the app's website. The link looks like this:
<a href="https://yourapp.com/?ref=macpip" rel="noopener" target="_blank">
The noopener is a browser safety setting and has nothing to do with search engines. The ref=macpip lets you see the visits in your own analytics.
Paid Featured spots are the exception, and they are marked sponsored. The link on your own listing is not.
What it can do for your SEO
Be realistic. This is one real link from a page about your app, on a site about Mac apps. That is worth having, and it is not a ranking plan.
MacPip is brand new, so its authority is low today. The link helps more as MacPip grows, and every maker who shares their listing helps with that. We cannot promise any ranking, and nobody honest can.
You also get a page people can find, read and vote on, which can send real visitors whatever search engines do.
How to get it
- Paste your app's link on the submit page.
- We read the name, icon, screenshots and price. Change anything that is wrong.
- Choose a launch day or just list it, then send it and confirm your email with a code.
- A person checks it, usually within a few minutes. If something is off, your status page says what.
Which apps qualify? Apps that run on macOS, from the Mac App Store or your own site. Web apps and iPhone-only apps are not listed. The details are in our rules.
The badge is optional
The Listed on MacPip badge is there if you like it. It tells your visitors you are listed, and it changes nothing about your link.
