Windows Explorer workflows in the real Finder: folder tree, typeable path, Task Manager

About

For people who moved from Windows. Switchback adds Explorer habits to the Finder you already use instead of replacing it. Browse an expandable folder tree in the sidebar, type or paste a path into the path bar (Tab completes it), and find Copy Path at the top of the right-click menu, plus New > Text document, Open Terminal here and more. Copies show progress with a speed graph, and supported local copies can be paused and resumed. A Task Manager lives inside the Force Quit window, with CPU, memory and disk activity.

Version 1.0.1 adds Windows-style window snapping with Snap Assist, a Cmd-Tab switcher with window previews, and Dock previews. Every feature has its own switch, and window features stay off until you turn them on.

Runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 13 or later, including macOS 27. Developer ID signed and notarised. 14-day free trial with no card (it starts after setup succeeds), then $24.99 one-time for one Mac, $8.99 per extra Mac. No subscription.

Worth knowing first: setup includes a one-time Apple Recovery step that allows connecting to protected apps and sets startup security to Permissive for that macOS installation. The setup guide explains why and how to undo it: https://getswitchback.io/setup/
