Launch free, or launch your way.
Every launch plays by the same rules. Votes set the order, and nobody can pay to change it.

On your launch day, a gold row in the Today window. It stays wherever its votes put it.
It sits where its votes put it. Here, second.

Questions
Does Premium change where I rank?
No. Your row is gold and labeled Premium, and it sits wherever its votes put it, like every other launch that day.
Do I need the badge?
For a free launch day, yes: a plain, visible, followed link to your app's MacPip page on your own site. For a listing, no. With Premium, no.
What if the badge comes down after my free launch?
You get one heads-up email and a grace day to put it back. Still gone then, the launch leaves the home page and the weekly email, its Friend perks switch off and its link turns nofollow. Put it back and it all comes back.
What if my app does not pass the check?
You get your money back. An app that fails the check can't buy a launch.
The whole badge rule is in our rules.
